  2. ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Create Installation Response File - Main panel ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ

  4. Response files are used to install products remotely (CID install) or to 
  5. provide a customized install. 
  6.  
  7. This tool will help you create a response file with all the keywords necessary 
  8. for a basic install. The complete list of keywords will be inserted in the file 
  9. as comment lines. If you need to customize the response file further, you can 
  10. edit the resulting file using any text editor.

  12. Following is a description of each field in the main panel:

  14. o Product 
  15.  
  16.   This is a drop-down list with the available DB2 products for which a response 
  17.   file may be created. Select the product for which you wish to create a 
  18.   response file. 
  19.  
  20. o Optional Components 
  21.  
  22.   This is a list of the optional components that you can select to have 
  23.   installed. Zero or more components may be selected. The contents of the list 
  24.   depend on the product you have selected in the Product list. 
  25.  
  26. o File directory 
  27.  
  28.   This entry field allows you to select the target directory for installation 
  29.   of the product. The specified drive need not exist on this system, however, 
  30.   it must be available at install time on the target system.

  32. o Update CONFIG.SYS 
  33.  
  34.   Place a check in this box if you would like changes applied directly to the 
  35.   CONFIG.SYS file. Uncheck the box if you would like the changes to be made to 
  36.   a backup of the CONFIG.SYS file.

  38. o Save backup if product is already installed 
  39.  
  40.   If you have checked this box and the product being installed is already 
  41.   installed on the target system, the installed version will be backed up. This 
  42.   response file keyword is ignored if the product is not currently installed.
